We have now our own CDC oil dry fly floatant. They come in a very clever bottle with an extension in the bottom with a hole, so you can hang it upside down without any extra accessories. The Oil is thinner and is a better choice if you prepare the flies at the tying desk, or for small flies where the gel has a tendency to cover the fibers. The Gel is a bit thicker and is our first hand choice for on-the-water treatment of all types of dry flies and emergers.
